Why the date resets to today in Central, Maps and All Bookings
This article explains why the date you selected in Central, Maps and All Bookings sometimes resets to today, and when that happens.
If you select a date in Central, Maps or All Bookings, leave the tab open, and come back to it the next morning, the date is back to today. This is intended, and this article explains the rule behind it. It is written for anyone who works in these views daily, including Meeting Services Managers, Meeting coordinators and Receptionists.
Why this happens
Central, Maps and All Bookings share the same date picker in the navigation bar. The date you select there is remembered. If you pick a date and reload the page, or close the browser and open it again later the same day, you return to the date you were on.
That memory is useful within a day and misleading across days. Without a correction, a tab left open on Monday afternoon would still be showing Monday's meetings on Tuesday morning, and you would be reading yesterday's schedule without any signal that anything is wrong.
So AskCody checks the calendar day whenever you return to the tab or window. When the tab becomes visible again, or the window regains focus, the current date is compared against the date from when you were last there. If the calendar day has changed, the date picker resets to today.
What this means in practice
- A tab left open overnight, or over a weekend, shows today's date when you come back to it.
- Switching between tabs within the same day changes nothing. Your selected date is kept.
- Reloading the page within the same day changes nothing. Your selected date is kept.
- Closing the browser and reopening it later the same day changes nothing. Your selected date is kept.
- The reset happens on your return to the tab, not while you are away from it. If you are looking at next Thursday and you keep working in that tab, the date stays on next Thursday.
Note: The reset applies to the date only. Your other view settings, such as the meeting rooms and desks you have chosen to display, are not affected. To change which resources you see, read how to customize the All Bookings view.

If the date is not what you expect
Before troubleshooting anything else, check the date picker in the navigation bar. A date left over from earlier in the session is the most common reason a meeting, a booking or a room appears to be missing. If a room's meetings are still not showing after you have confirmed the date, read why a room's meetings are not showing in Central, and how to fix it.
If the issue persists
If the date behaves differently from what is described here, submit a support ticket with the product you were in, the date you had selected, and how long the tab had been open.
