What to do when you are blocked by the Web Application Firewall

Actions (requests) can be blocked while using the AskCody platform when the Web Applicaiton Firewall interprets the activity as a security threat. In the case of a false alarm, a solution will be implemented in 3-5 business days.

AskCody uses a Web Application Firewall (WAF) to provide centralized protection for the platform. The WAF defends AskCody’s website against common exploits and vulnerabilities. It keeps platform available for you as users and helps us meet our security compliance requirements.

The WAF inspects every incoming submission delivered at the network edge, and either Allows, Blocks, Logs, or Redirects these requests. AskCody continually works to develop its WAF policies and is working to create a fully customized system that meets AskCody’s specific application protection requirements by combining managed and custom rules.

However, sometimes, you as users may experience a false positive, where actions are blocked, when they should not have been. This can happen when a combination of unexpected characters is input into a field, for example.  In the event of a blockage, AskCody is automatically notified, and you do not need to contact us. New policies will be created and implemented by AskCody, within 3-5 business days.

After the 3–5-day period, the false positive should be resolved and the action should be allowed if you try again. If the issue persists after this period, please contact AskCody Support (link to support form) and we will review the case.
