How to set up AskCody Displays on Philips 10BDL5051T

Learn how to display the AskCody Displays on this Philips signage device

Note

This guide is intended to be used after performing the initial setup (first run experience) of the Philips Tablet, where settings such as language, time zone and network options (such as Ethernet and Wi-Fi are configured). When the signage device is ready to be used, please follow the steps below to set up the AskCody Displays on it.

Setting up the AskCody App

  1. Turn on the Philips screen 
  2. Find the standby button and the volume down button on the right edge of the display. Press the standby button first, and while holding it pressed, press the volume down button. This will trigger a password input screen, which will allow access to the device settings
  3. Type in the password (default password is 1234) and press "OK" 
  4. Next, we'll load the .apk file onto the device: Insert a USB drive with the .apk file stored 
  5. Press Apps and then File Manager
  6. At the left panel, locate the external storage media (USB drive). Tap on it, and locate the "Philips Signage v1.4.apk" file
  7. Tap the file icon and then tap on "Install"
  8. In the Apps-menu press the AskCody App
  9. Type in the License Key of the Display you want to show (License key: EU/World, click here. The US, click here)
  10. Click confirm

Configure the Device to Launch the AskCody app Automatically upon Restart

  1. Access the device settings by following instruction steps 2 and 3 above
  2. Tap on "Settings"
  3. Follow this path: Settings -> General Settings -> Boot on source. In here, select "Custom App"
  4. Back in the main settings menu, follow this path: Source settings -> Custom app. In here, select "AskCody"

After configuring the display as above, your Philips signage device will display your AskCody Room Displays content, and automatically launch the app after a device reboot*. 

 

*Upon restart, the AskCody app will be automatically launched within 30 seconds of boot time.
