Navigate the AskCody Platform Using the AI Assistant

Use natural language to navigate directly to any page in AskCody

The AskCody AI Assistant can help you get around the platform by taking you directly to the page you need. Instead of browsing through menus or looking for the right section, just tell the assistant where you want to go, or describe what you're trying to do, and it will guide you there.

This article explains how AI-powered navigation works, what to expect, and how to manage your navigation preferences.

How It Works

The AI Assistant understands both direct and indirect navigation requests. There are two ways to navigate using the assistant:

Ask to go to a specific page
You can tell the assistant the name of the page you want to visit. For example:

  • "Take me to Visitors"
  • "Go to the Bookings page"
  • "Open Insights"

The assistant will recognize the page and navigate you there.

Describe what you want to do
You don't need to know the exact page name. Just describe your goal, and the assistant will figure out the right page for you. For example:

  • "Where can I see upcoming visitors?"
  • "I want to check room availability"
  • "How do I manage meeting services?"

In this case, the assistant will suggest the most relevant page and ask if you'd like to be taken there. For example, it might respond:

"You can see upcoming visitors on the CurrentVisitors page. Would you like me to take you there?"

What to Expect

First-Time Navigation

The first time the assistant navigates you to a page, it will ask for your confirmation before doing so. This makes sure you always stay in control of where you end up in the platform.

Allowing Automatic Navigation

After confirming a navigation action, the assistant will offer you the option to allow automatic navigation going forward. If you choose to enable this, the assistant will take you directly to the requested page without asking for confirmation each time.

Once automatic navigation is enabled, the assistant will let you know that you can disable it at any time just by asking.

If Automatic Navigation Is Not Enabled
If you prefer to keep confirmation on, the assistant will ask for your approval every time before navigating. This is the default behavior and can always be restored.

Managing Your Navigation Preferences

You can change your automatic navigation preference at any time by talking to the assistant. Just say something like:

  • "Disable automatic navigation"
  • "Always ask before navigating"
  • "Stop navigating automatically"

To turn it back on, you can say:

  • "Allow automatic navigation"
  • "Navigate without asking"
  • "Enable auto-navigation"

Your preference is saved locally in your browser. If you clear your browser data or switch to a different browser, the setting will reset and the assistant will ask for confirmation again on your next navigation request.

What Pages Can the Assistant Navigate To?

The assistant can navigate you to all major pages and sections across the AskCody platform, including areas like Visitors, Bookings, Insights, Maps, Services, and more.

The list of supported pages is continuously maintained and updated as the platform evolves, so new pages and features will become available for navigation over time.

When the Assistant Cannot Navigate

If the assistant doesn't recognize the page you're asking for, or if your request is ambiguous, it will let you know and try to help you find what you need. It might suggest related pages or ask a follow-up question to better understand what you're looking for.

The assistant will never navigate you somewhere without your knowledge. You will always see either a confirmation prompt or a clear indication of where it is taking you.

Caveats and testing phase

We are currently evaluating the AI Assistant’s navigation capabilities and will continue to improve them over time. In the first release, the assistant may navigate to pages that a user does not have access to, which can result in an error. This is a known limitation that we are working to address in a future iteration.
