This article will guide you on how to change the language across all modules and the AskCody Portal.
Language in AskCody is controlled in four ways:
- The default system language
- The user language
- The location language
- Manual language configuration
The way to change the language depends on what AskCody module you are looking to change the language for.
Languages available in the AskCody Platform.
The AskCody Portal
The language for the AskCody Portal is managed by either the default system language or the user language. This means that the default system language is the language shown in the AskCody Portal unless the user has a specific language selected in the user settings.
How to change the default system language
To change the default system language, go to the Admin Center in the AskCody Portal → click Account → click Language and time → change the Locale to the language you need.
How to change the user language
To change the user language, go to the Admin Center in the AskCody Portal → click Users→ click Users → click the user in question and select language.
Add-ins (Services, Visitors, and Bookings)
The add-ins for Outlook will use the language of the Outlook client on your computer. To change the language in Outlook please see this article.
Digital signage (Displays and Dashboards)
When creating a location in AskCody you have the option to select a language for that location. This language will then be inherited by all the calendars and configurations configured with this location as well as the Displays. This means that if you have selected Spanish as the language for a location that is used by the calendars connected to the Display screen, the Display screen will also be in Spanish.
How to change the language on Displays
To change the language for a Display go to the Admin Center in the AskCody Portal → click Account → click Locations → click Add → to create the location with the desired language → click Integrations → click Microsoft Exchange Calendars → find the calendar connected to the Display and click edit → select the Location you just created → click Save.
The important thing to remember is that language is determined by the location used by the calendar for the Display.
How to change the language on Dashboards
To change the language for a Dashboard go to the Admin Center in the AskCody Portal → click Account → click Locations → click Add → to create the location with the desired language → click Dashboards → click Dashboard Templates → find the template connected to Dashboard and click edit → select the Location you just created → click Save.
Visitor management (Visitors)
For the visitor management solution, you can change the language for the notifications (email and SMS) and the check-in kiosk. This is all controlled from the reception settings that the notifications and check-in kiosk are connected to.
To add languages to the reception, go to the Admin Center in the AskCody Portal → click Visitors → click Receptions → click the specific reception, and add the desired languages.
Now a version of all notifications and check-in kiosk text using that language will be added to that reception. To access and customize these notifications go to Admin Center in the AskCody Portal → click Visitors → click Check-in Properties → click the specific notification or screen text and edit the specific language version of that notification for a specific reception.
